Prof. Spira is an author, jazz trombonist, ethnomusicologist, founder of Mucus-free Life LLC, and one of the most sought-after experts on Arnold Ehret's Mucusless Diet Healing System in the world.
After learning about the Mucusless Diet in 2002, within a year he'd lost over 110 pounds and overcame many ailments, including chronic migraine headaches, lower back pain, allergies, and chronic cases of bronchitis.
After healing himself, he's helped hundreds of thousands of people learn how to transition toward a mucus-free lifestyle.
In 2014, Prof. Spira started Mucus-free Life LLC, where he publishes several books and courses related to the Mucus-free Lifestyle.
His Annotated version of Arnold Ehret's classic Mucusless Diet Healing System has been featured on Amazon's Top 10 Best Seller's List for Naturopathy and Natural Medicine numerous times.
Prof. Spira holds 4 academic degrees, including a Masters in Jazz Studies from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a PhD in Musicology from the Ohio State University.
He's created and taught a number of university courses and at the age of 23 was the youngest lecturer at Northern Kentucky University. In 2018, he returned to Ohio State to instruct "Introduction to Jazz."
He is also a world-class jazz trombonist and music educator. He has performed with some of the world's most influential musicians, including George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Foley McCreary (Miles Davis' former lead bassist), Grammy Award winning trumpeter Brian Lynch, Grammy Nominee Bobby Floyd, and many others.
